Reading Roundup for March 2023

I’ve got a list of the seven titles I finished in March 2023, a gallery pic, and some thoughts on a possible future post for you.

  • “Backpacking Through Bedlam” (InCryptid Book Twelve) by Seanan McGuire
  • “Flash: The Haunting of Barry Allen” by Clay Griffith and Susan Griffith (Part one of a two part Arrowverse crossover with the next book.) (Fiction)
  • “Arrow: A Generation of Vipers” by Clay Griffith and Susan Griffith (Part two of a two part Arrowverse crossover with the previous book.) (Fiction)
  • “Content/Consent” by Seanan McGuire (Short Fiction)
  • “Becoming Eve: My Journey from Ultra-Orthodox Rabbi to Transgender Woman” by Rabbi Abby Chava Stein (Memoir)
  • “Gender Queer” by Maia Kobabe (Memoir in Graphic Novel Format)
  • “WatchTime Magazine, April 2023” (Magazine)

In this selfie, I’ve just picked-up my pre-order of “Backpacking Through Bedlam” from Eagle Harbor Book Company, and I’m pausing outside the shop, underneath its sign.
(Lots of locals take bookish selfies like this; we’re proud of our little bookstore.)

Wrapping Up

That’s my Reading Roundup for March 2023.

While “Backpacking Through Bedlam” was my fave read for the month, I didn’t review it as a “Featured Read,” because it’s book twelve in the InCryptid series, and this tale sits atop a lot of (in-world) history; so, as much as I enjoyed it, I felt like I couldn’t recommend it as the first InCryptid book you pick up.

I’ve reflected on how to share my love of the InCryptid world with you, and I think the solution could be to do a “Favorite Things” post on this series.
Would that interest you?

InCryptid is my third favorite series; my second favorite is the Wayward Children series, which is also by Seanan McGuire; and my favorite series is The Glamourist Histories by Mary Robinette Kowal.
I’ve mentioned The Glamourist Histories and the Wayward Children series, in this post:
